BUS

There is no better means to get up the hill for your downhill tour, as to take the bus .
In the South, the most important line is the 342 starting daily once at 9:15 in Las Americas, and riding up to the Teide. Beware - on weekends the trunk is pretty full of DH bikes!
Other important lines are:
- 111 (motorway bus)
- 477, 473 (Los Gigantes)
- 325 (from the Northwest to the South)

How to use a bus:

1.see up the bus timetable at www.titsa.com. The bus stops are all shown with GoogleMaps.
2. Buy a card (BonoBus) for 12EUR. This will save 50% of the costs. You cant buy it on the bus, but at all newspaper shops. You or your friends can use this card until the 12EUR is consumed.
One ride from Las Americas to 2100m of elevation (Las Lajas, Boca Tauce) will cost approx. 2,5EUR, El Portillo 3,5EUR (always with the BonoBus). Bikes are free.
3.make sure that your bike is small enough to fit in the trunk of the bus. This is not a problem on Teide buses and buses linked with the Airport. On other lines, trunk size varies.
4.If you have problems to open the trunk, ask the driver. Trunks must be accessible for all passengers.
5. it is good to have a bungee chord with you
